Metro Warriors Basketball Coaches 2018-2019
Rachel Glanzer – Rachel Glanzer has been coaching Warrior volleyball and basketball for the last 6 years. She is a Warrior alum and discovered her love for coaching as a senior in high school. She went to Grace University where she played 4 years of volleyball and basketball and got a degree in middle school education. Rachel was an assistant coach for Grace volleyball for one season and a History and P.E. teacher and coach at Bellevue Christian Academy for two years prior to returning to the Warrior program. She is currently a stay-at-home wife and mom to three boys: Jett (7), Lincoln (5), and Henry (2). Rachel has a passion for the game and for coaching the game because of the life lessons that can be learned and applied while playing the game. As a coach she seeks to teach the skills of the game and teamwork, push her teams to work hard and finish strong, give confidence, and encourage character building.
Jessica Miszuk – Jessica Miszuk is one of our own Warrior alumni. She graduated from Calvary Bible College with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Counseling where she also played volleyball. Although she primarily played Middle Blocker, she finished her senior year at Calvary as an Outside Hitter and the captain of her team. After she graduated from college she returned home to coach her old high school team, the Omaha Metro Warriors. She has coached a total of 5 years for the Metro Warriors and 2 years at Calvary. Her passion as a coach is to help athletes see the value of bringing God into every practice and game. One of her favorite scenarios is when a team is not only at the top of their competitive ability but is able to give all credit (glory) to the Lord Jesus Christ. Jessica’s goal is to encourage her players to work their hardest for the glory of God, while still having fun and learning more about living life in community (teamwork). Reminding each of them that “whatever you do, do it HEARTILY, as to the Lord and not to men” (Colossians 3:23). She is excited to coach each girl the Lord brings her way. Not only in the game of volleyball but also through the practical lessons of life that arise during their daily walk with their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Laura Haley –Laura Haley played basketball for Fremont Bergan and Pius X High School in Lincoln. She is a stay-at-home mother and homeschooling parent of 4 children: Amelia (11), Norah (9), Callen (5) and Fiona (5). Laura will be starting her second season for the Warriors and brings an eagerness to teach both new and experienced players of all abilities. She focuses on fundamentals while working to challenge and improve skills of the youngest group of Warrior players, while encouraging the girls to work hard and to have fun while playing. She enjoys watching the girls grow through the season in not just their basketball skills, but also in the friendships they make while coming together as a team.
